Letter To Me

If I could write a letter to me for the future I would say, "do you remember back when you were little and used to tell yourself that you were going to open up a Pediatric hospital in the old Childress Hotel?" Now look at you, you've made your dreams come true. You stayed in school and studied your medicines. While all the other kids were partying you stayed at home studying and kept your head straight. Now you're working for all the hospitals in Amarillo when they need you. You have 3 beautiful kids and a wonderful husband that's just as devoted to his job as you are. After all the broken hearts and fights God has sent you a wonderful husband. LOOK AT ME GO!! After all the hard work, effort, and tears you've put in your life it was totally worth because of the life you have today. After year's of working at the hospitals in Amarillo you will come back and open up a Pediatric Center in the old Childress Hotel just because everyone doubted you. Sitting here at 17 I can see my future unfold before me. I truly believe that if and when I look at this letter to myself when I am 30, I can cry happy tears and say "LOOK AT ME GO! I DID IT!"

Coach Rhodes

My favorite memory of Coach Rhodes would have to be when we were in Freshman track right before my knee injury. We were dieing at the track like always because of the unbelievable workout we had to do during that season. I felt like giving up and began showing because I began falling behind all of the other girls. I just want to stop and vomit! Well here comes old Coach Rhodes when I thought nothing could boost my confidence. He said "Cano, as fast as you are you should be at the front." I told him, "But Coach, I'm a short distance runner not a long distance runner!" Ol' Coach replied "Girrr you acting just like lazy ol' Anthony Flemons. Now get your tail to running." And boy did I get to running, because there was no way in the world I wanted sweet Coach Rhodes disappointed in me!

Thank you Coach Rhodes for your support!

The Tale of the Unicorn and Bee

There once was a huge, pink and white unicorn that had fur as soft as bunny rabbits fur against your face. Her name was Doughnut! She was making her way through Lollipop Land to get to see her true love Calache. She came upon a pear tree that looked unimaginably delicious. She reached her head up and crunched into it. The pear's juice burst into her taste buds and quenched her thirst and hunger from the day's long journey. While she was enjoying her sweet pear a long came a bee. He said "Mam would you mind of I had a taste of your sweet delicious pear?" "Of course not! Go right ahead!" But instead of the bee taking a bite of her pear she went right down and stung the top of Doughnut's nose. "Oh, no! I'm allergic to you guys." The sting was outrageous it was like the pound of a hammer on your nose. Doughnut began to choke! "I'll never get to see my lover Calache again!" The beautiful Doughnut was gone now and the bee just buzzed away!

Swine Flu

H1N1 or best known to us as "Swine Flu", is a respiratory disease that is typically found in pigs but occasionally can spread to humans. Swine flu was first found in San Antonio, Texas and Southern California but the cause of the spread is still unknown. Flu is usually spread through airborne spit that leaves our mouths.
Swine flu is now ranked 5 to 6 on the rank of how many people have it. This doesn't necessarily mean that more people are dieing from it but that it is spreading more in certain regions.
A way to prevent from getting Swine Flu is to WASH YOUR HANDS, DISINFECT SURFACES, AND AVOID CLOSE CONTACT WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE SICK!!

Good luck on not becoming a lil' piggy!!
